Review: I’ve found My ideal Headphones – Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless
When I got my Bragi The Headphone their tiny chauffeurs disappointed. They don’t offer the sound I love and I understood I was going to have to opt for some ‘proper’ headphones.
Then on a trip to London in February last year I had the chance to call at Selfridges and listen to some headphones back to back. In the age of on-line shopping it’s a bit of a luxury to be able to do a comparative listening test like this.
I listen to my shortlist, the Bose QuietComfort 35, the Sennheiser PXC 550, the Sennheiser MOMENTUM Wireless 2. I wanted to love the Bose QC35’s (you too can look as cool as Lewis Hamilton) but once again I found the bass a smidgen underwhelming.
Both the Bose and the Sennheiser PXC 550’s have the best noise cancellation, but in the end I kept coming back to the Wireless Momentum 2. Don’t get me wrong, there are no bad headphones in this shortlist, but the Momentum’s sound was the one that really did it for me.
They ooze quality. built from stainless steel and leather, the Momentum 2 Wireless headphones come in a good carry case case complete with 1.4m cable, USB charging cable, Inflight adapter and Manuals.
The styling is 1970s retro and I much choose their subtle and anonymous looks, than some of the much more shouty branded headphones around. The over-ear design is really comfortable and the large soft pads are large enough to enclose even my huge lugs.
A long press toggles the power although to my ears it is sometime hard to distinguish between ON and OFF. A triple click and the good lady in your ear tells you your remaining battery. Battery life is fantastic, offering up to 22 hours of use, I’ve never run out of battery power yet.
They are noise cancelling and also included NFC pairing for your Android devices. The folding hinges imply they take up less room in your bag and they’ve accompanied me on every flight because I purchased them.
These Sennheisers have the warm bass sound I crave, especially for the electronic music I primarily listen to.
I also use them a lot with my MacBook for viewing Netflix. along with their comfort, quality and the wireless benefit they are close to perfect.
The price has dropped by around £90 because I purchased them, although they are still an extravagance. but after much more than a year of daily use I can heartily recommend them.
I don’t need to try any much more headphones now, honest.
